මිහිතල මිතුරෝ සිය 25 වන සංවත්සරය නිමිත්තෙන් සැප්තැම්බර් 21 වන දිනය වෙන්කර තිබෙන්නේ ප‍්‍රජාව වෙනුවෙනි. 

Earth Friends have dedicated September 21st to the community for its 25th anniversary.

එදින උදෑසන 09.00 සිට සවස 03.00 දක්වා අක්ෂි සායන, දන්ත සායන, රුධිර පටල පරික්ෂාව ඇතුළත් විශේෂඥ වෛද්‍ය සායනයක් පැවැත්වෙනු ඇත.

From 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, a specialized medical clinic, which includes eye clinics, dental clinics and blood film tests..

එදිනම නොමිලයේ ඇස් කණ්නාඩි බෙදා දිමේ වැඩසටහනක් ද කි‍්‍රයාත්මක වේ.

There is also a free spectacle distribution program on the same day.

කොඩිිගහකන්ද අභයභූමියේ සැබෑම සංරක්ෂකයින් වන්නේ ඒ අවට ජිවත්වන ප‍්‍රජාවයි

The community that lives in and around Kodigahakanda Sanctuary is the real conservationist.

කොඩිගහකන්ද හුදෙකලා වනාන්තරය ජෛවවිවිධත්වයෙන් කෙතරම් පොහොසත් ද කියන එක ඉහත වාර්තාවෙන් සනාත වෙනව.
The above report confirms how rich the biodiversity of Kodigahakanda's isolated forest is.
කොඩිගහකන්දේ ජෛවවිවිධත්වය පිළිබඳව සිදු කෙරුන ප‍්‍රථම විද්‍යාත්මක පර්යේෂණය 1986 වසරේ දි සිදු වෙනව. මහාචාරය සරත් කොටගම මහතා ගේ මුලිකත්වයෙන් කොළම විශ්වවිද්‍යාලයේ සංරක්ෂණය සඳහා පානගමු සංවිධානය එම පර්යේෂණය සිදුකරනු ලබනව.

In 1986, the first scientific research on the biodiversity of Kodigahakanda was undertaken. The research is being carried out by the ''March for Conservation" Organization of Colombo University under the initiative of Professor Sarath Kotagama.

දෙවන පර්යේෂණය 1995 - 1998 වසර 3 ක් පුරා වනජීවිභාරයේ වැඩසටහන් නිලධාරීව සිටි ශී‍්‍ර ලාල් නිශාන්ත හෙට්ටිආරච්චි මහතා විසින් සිදුකරන ලදී.

In 1995 -1998 the second research was conducted by Srilal Nishantha Hettiarachchi, Program Officer of the Wildlife Trust for three years.

තෙවැන්න 2014 - 2015 කාලය තුල සජීව චාමිකර සහ අජන්ත පලිහවඩන යන මහත්වරුන් විසින් පවත්වන ලදී.

The third was held by Sajeewa Chamikara and Ajantha Palihawadana during 2014-2015.

ලෝකය පුරා වේගයෙන් ජෛවිවිධත්වය හායනය වන යුගයක ක‍්‍රමිකව කොඩිගහකන්දේ ජෛවවිවිධත්වය වර්ධනය වි ඇති බව එම පර්යේෂණ වාර්තා අපට පෙන්වා දෙයි.

The research reports show that the biodiversity of Kodigahakanda has gradually increased in an era of rapidly declining biodiversity around the world.

ශී‍්‍ර ලංකාවට ආවේණික පක්ෂින් ඇතුළු පක්ෂි විශේෂ 83 ක් කොඩිගහකන්දෙදි දැකගන්න පුළුවන්
83 species of birds and birds native to Sri Lanka can be seen at Kodigahakanda

සමනළ විශේෂ 69 ක් දැක ගන්න කොඩිගහකන්දට ආවොත් පුළුවන්. ඒ අතරෙ ලංකාවෙ ඉන්න ලස්සනම සමනලයාවත් දැක ගන්න පුළුවන්.

You can come to Kodigahakanda to see 69 butterfly species. You can see in here the most beautiful butterfly in Sri Lanka.

මෙයා තමයි ශී‍්‍ර ලංකාවෙ ලස්සනම සමනලයා. This is the Most Beautiful  Butterfly in Sri Lanka " Banded Peacock"

එපමණක් නොවෙයි සමනල කඳු වැටිය වැනි ඉහළ කඳුකර වනාන්තර වල වාර්තාවන   "Blue Admiral"      සමනලයා ද ඔබට කොඩිගහකන්දේ දී සුලබව දැක ගත හැකියි.

You can also see" Blue Admiral" butterfly found in the high mountain forests such as the "Samanala/SRIPADA" Mountains.

2019 සැප්තැම්බර් 19 වෙනිදට මිහිතල මිතුරන්ට හරියටම අවුරුදු 25 යි. 

On September 19, 2019, Earth Friends will be exactly              25 years old

මොනවද මේ අවුරුදු 25 ක් තිස්සෙ මිහිතල  මිතුරෝ කළේ. ඒක දිග කථාවක්. විසිපස් වසරක සැමරුම් ලෙහෙසියෙන් කියන්න පුළුවන්යැ.

අද අපි කියන්නෙ මිහිතල  මිතුරෝ කරපු එක දෙයක් ගැන.              What have the friends of the Earth done for 25 years.? It's a long story. 25 years of celebrations is not easy to say. Today we are talking about one thing that the Friends of the Earth did

ඔන්න මිහිතල මිතුරෝ තමන්ගෙ වැඩ පටන් ගන්නෙ 1994 සැපැතැම්බර් 19 වෙනිදා. ඒ විනාශයට යමින් තිබුන කොඩිගහකන්ද වනපෙත අනාගත පරපුර වෙනුවෙන් සංරක්ෂණය කරන්න. ඒ වැඩෙත් ලෙහෙසි පහසු වැඩක් නෙමෙයි. ඒ වෙනුවෙන් මිහිතල මිතුරෝ කරපු වැඩ ගැන කියන එකත් මහා දිග කථාවක්.

Kodigahakanda Wildlife Sanctuary which was on the way to destruction It was not easy task to preseve for next generation. It is a long story to tell about the work done by friends of the earth.

First let's see where Kodigahakanda is located.

ශී‍්‍ර ලංකාවේ, බස්නාහිර පළාතෙ, හොරණ ප‍්‍රාදේශිය ලේකම් කොට්ඨාශයේ , ඔළබොඩුව උතුර ග‍්‍රාමනිලධාරී වසමේ තමයි කොඩිගහකන්ද පිහිටා තිබෙන්නෙ. 

Kodigahakanda is located in the Olaboduwa North Grama Niladhari Division of the Horana Divisional Secretariat of the Western Province of Sri Lanka.

කොඩිගහකන්ද ගැන ඔබට කියන මේ කථාවට දිග ඉතිහාසයක් තියෙනව. ඒ ඉතිහාස කථාව අත්හැරල මේ ගැන කථා කරන්න බැහැ. 

This story about Kodigahakanda has a long history. I cannot leave this history behind and talk about it.

ඒ කථාව අරඹන්න ඉස්සෙල්ල කොඩිගහකන්දේ ජෛවවිවිධත්වයට අදාළ කැමරා සිතුවම් ටිකක් බලලම ඉමු.

Mihithala Mithuro (Earth Friiends)  Environment Development Foundation is proudly celebrating its 25th anniversary.

දින 3 ක් පුරා දිවයන වැඩසටහන් මාලාවක් ඒ වෙනුවෙන් කි‍්‍රයාත්මක කිරිමට සැළසුම් කර ඇත. 2019 සැප්තැම්බර් 20,21 සහ 22 යන තෙදින පුරා කොඩිගහකන්ද අභයභූමියෙහි පිහිටි මිහිතල මිතුරෝ ජෛවවිවිධත්ව මධ්‍යස්ථාන පරිශ‍්‍රයේ මෙම සැමරුම් වැඩසටහන් කි‍්‍රයාත්මක වෙයි.    

  A series of 3-day programs are planned for this event. 

These commemorative events will take place on September 

20, 21 and 22, 2019 at the Mihithala Mithuro (Earth 

Friends)   Biodiversity Center at the Kodigahakanda

සැප්තැම්බර් 22 වන දින උදෑසන 09.00 ට ඇරඹෙන මිහිතල මිතුරෝ 25 වන සමුළුවෙහි සමාරම්භක උත්සවය මධ්‍යහ්න 12.00 දක්වා පැවැත්වෙ යි. මිහිතල මිතුරෝ සාමාජිකයින්ට අමතරව පාරිසරික ක්ෂේත‍්‍රයේ විද්වතුන් පරිසර කි‍්‍රයාධරයින් හා සමාජ කි‍්‍රයාකාරින් රැසක් මෙම සමාරම්භක උළෙලට සහභාගිවනු ඇත. සවස 02.00 ට මිහිතල මිතුරෝ  මහා සමුළුව සහ නිලවරණය පැවැත් වෙනු ඇත.

එදින රාතී‍්‍ර  07.00 ට සුභාවිත ගීතයේ රසමුසු තැන් සොයා යන සංගීතමය වැඩසටහන රාත‍්‍රී 10.00 දක්වා පැවැත්වෙනු ඇත.

The inaugural ceremony of the Mihithala Mithuro's (Earth Friends)  25th Summit will be started at 09.00 a.m. on September 22nd. In addition to the Members  of Mihithala Mithuro (Earth Friends) environmental experts, environmental activists and social activists will also participate in the inauguration. The Earth Friends AGM will be held at 02.00 pm.

A meaningful music evening will be held from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
